Our Story

Inland Building Company is a building construction, renovation and remodeling firm located in Central Vermont. We pride ourselves on a history of collaborating closely with our clients through all phases of a project, listening carefully to the clients needs and their desires. Whether it be a large or small project, we deliver high quality workmanship.

Begun as S & L Services on the island of Nantucket, Inland Building Company has spent the last 30 years catering to our clients’ necessities and dreams. Our ultimate goal is to make your home a comfortable, efficient, sustainable and unique living space that you never want to leave.

Building in the island’s harsh weather conditions taught us the necessity of thorough flashing and leak prevention. This, combined with the use of high quality building materials, results in a home requiring less maintenance and increased longevity.

Sourcing/Subcontractors

Diverse types of projects require varied skills. We draw on long-standing, extensive relationships to bring in expertise where needed, looking for the same integrity, pride-of-work, and commitment to quality that we, ourselves, bring to each project.

Budget/Cost Accountability

Few have the luxury of working without a budget. We seek to use the highest quality materials while at the same time being mindful of cost constraints. We will seek competitive pricing on sourced material and labor that is in line with this commitment. Finally, we’re willing to provide an itemized breakdown of the final project cost, including receipts and/or quotes received.

References/Testimonials

As is the case for every craftsman, it is our work that is our greatest reference. Images can be found on our Featured Projects page.

If you would like to hear first hand testimonials from individuals we have worked with over the years, we will be more than happy to provide you with professional references.

Details Matter
